How I lost 36lbs previously

Okay so since quite a few of you are asking, I thought imma write this down and put it up on the side bar (and so I don’t have to repeat myself all the time :P).

January to Mid June 2011
1. I restrict my calories intake. I started by limiting my calories intake to 900 and slowly dropping it to 800. Now my average intake is 600 or lower. You can check my exact daily intake on My Food Diary. (Note: My intake does not include some raw fruits and veggies. Refer to pt.2)

2. I have 5 to 9 servings of fruits and veggies every day. They kind of fill me up and makes me poop more often so yeah. And I believe in negative calories fruits/food so I allow myself to free flow of ‘em. List of negative calories food

3. I opt for clear soup based food whenever possible. But do note that some soups are extremely high in sodium so you might want to skip the soup and just eat the food. 

4. I cut down on my intake of white rice, bread, pasta and deep fried food, and almost never have them anymore. I replace ‘em with lots of tofu and fish.

5. I cut out soda totally. Diet coke too ‘cause it’s all artificial sweetener. When I do have a craving, I go for fresh sugar cane juice - sweet but au naturel.

6. I started drinking plain water. Never used to like it and I can go for weeks without any, which is horrible. But now I need at least a bottle or two everyday since I can’t drink anything else.

7. I drink 2 to 3 cups of Japanese Green Tea or Oolong Tea every day. Daily recommended amount is 3 to 5 cups though you might not want to drink that many if you drink black coffee too.

8. I use a cellulite roller on my legs. It’s suppose to break down the fat cells and slim your thigh. I personally think it works for me ‘cause I’m right handed and my left leg is sort of thinner as compared to my right after all the rolling lol

- I took around 5 to 6 months to lose 30lbs with the above tips, without any exercises. -


Mid June - August 2011
1. I still keep up with the above tips.

2. I started doing some light exercises at home such as hula hooping, jumping rope and jogging on spot for at least 30 mins everyday in interval of 15 or 20 mins.

3. I do not eat 4 to 6 hours before bed time though I will have tea or water if I feel a little hungry.

4. I try to do at least 100 crunches, 100 reverse crunch and 100 leg lifts daily.


That’s all I can think of right now. Will update more later. x
