Tips for Weightloss

1. Change your diet. Cut out the necessary junk food and empty calories. You can’t just eat 200 calories of unhealthy food a day to try to lose weight.

2. Drink up. Drink at least 1.2L of water a day. I will recommend up to 2L depending on your activity level. But definitely not over 4L which will just flush out all the nutrients in your food. (Excludes tea.)

3. Green tea, oolong tea, black coffee. Learn to love these 0 calories drinks which also helps to boost your metabolism. I recommend 3 to 5 cups a day. Spread them out and have a cup with each meal.

4. Eat your greens. Broccoli, spinach and cabbage are all very low calories food which you may consume in a relatively large portion. Like stuff yourself full with your vegs!

5. Snack. Yes, you heard me right. Snacking every 1 to 2 hours keeps your metabolism going and can prevent you from overeating at your next meal. Just make sure you’re snacking on healthy low calories food.

6. Chew your food thoroughly. Chewing burns calories and decrease your appetite at the same time. Avoid rushing through your meal.

7. Eat with a fork or a pair of chopsticks. Never use the spoon unless you’re drinking soup. This mean you pick up less food with every bite.

8. Stop when you’re no longer hungry or when you’re 80% full. 80% is the maximum - anything over that you’ve overate.

9. Don’t binge. I know it’s easier said than done but you’ve gotta learn to control yourself to see the weight coming off. Find some ways to distract yourself from food when you feel the urge to binge. Paint your nails, read a book, concentrate on a puzzle, knit yourself a sweater etc.

10. Do your workout. Set a rule to do at least 30 mins of cardio a day no matter how tired you’re. Something is definitely better than nothing.
